Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th of 1946 Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life through her vivid and far-ranging imagination. Songs were written by her before she was able to read and write. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. At age 11 when she was 11, she began singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. As a student in high school, she made her name local, but longed for an even bigger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for the show he had syndicated to television. Parton began her career in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. The show ended in 1974 as her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton composed I Will Always Love You for Wagoner after their breakup. It made it to No. 1 for the first time in 1974.
