
Kate Hudson, an outstanding actor known for her performance in the Hollywood film Almost Famous. The movie brought her an Academy Award nomination. Born into a film-related family, Hudson seemed to be headed to make waves as a child. Her mother Goldie Hawn was an actor in film and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. Since her early years she was a performer and would seize every opportunity to perform on stage. As a youngster her parents offered dancing classes, and she took classes at the Santa Monica Playhouse. The actress began acting when was given a guest appearance in the TV drama Party of Five in 1996. After being accepted into New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to make a living in show business, but not earn an academic degree. After appearing in a couple of minor films, she was offered the role that was to prove to be a turning point in her career. The role she was chosen for was Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. The film was a failure in terms of box office revenue however it received good reviews from critics. It established Kate as an actress in the American film industry.
